It was very nice to spend a little time with you yesterday talking about the life and teaching of our Father, Shaikh Muhammad Rahim Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him, and with each of Us). Thank you for thinking of your brother Louie and coming to see me. It was very nice. Al-hamdu lillah. Allahu Akbar. Enclosed is a copy of the Original Version of the last Spiritual Chat between this child and our good sister Rumi Smith on 9/4/02, which provides a beautiful discussion of the following quote from Bawa, which is a wonderful gift from our Father to His Children. On 9/10/02 we mailed Page 1 of 3 of the Expanded Version of this Chat with Rumi to our brothers and sisters on the Fellowship Mailing List, and now we are sending both them and you the Original Version of this Chat, enclosed with this short letter to you. In some ways this Original Version is even a greater blessing than the Expanded Version, providing a beautiful short summary of the importance of using our wisdom, of using Bawa within us, to firmly establish within us what Bawa has given us "outside" of us, so we will never lose it, so it can never be erased, so it will not leave us when we leave here, when we die, and therefore can continue to be of great value to us when we leave here, when we die. You are His servants in His house." "Carefully sow the seeds of wisdom to receive His grace. Make His rahmat grow and tend it carefully with your good qualities, your wisdom, prayers and devotion." "When the crop ripens, you will harvest God's grace, His divine-awakened wisdom, His treasures, His qualities, and His full blessings." "If you forsake this duty and lose your wisdom, you will lose this precious harvest." (Note: this quote is from a discourse given by Bawa on June 6, 1986, and is also the quote of the month for September for the 1991 Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar) Finally, lets review the last two wisdom points that we shared when we visited together yesterday. They were very, very important, and we have tried to summarize them briefly for all of us below: 2. Don't Let Bawa Within You Be Erased - when you die, or you will have to face the suffering of the grave and Qiyamah, the Standing Forth, the Day of Reckoning First, we must all realize that everything we have learned from Bawa can be erased within us, if before we die, we "don't firmly establish it within us, and print it within us in a way that will stick". Second, we must all realize that we can only do this by "staying with the Shaikh", by joining with Bawa within us, with our wisdom within us, to move the wisdom or consciousness of truth within us, that we have all learned from Bawa on the "outside" of us, into the action of truth within us, "inside" our very own hearts. Third, we must all realize that we all need to do this before we die, because everything that we have learned from Bawa on the "outside" of us will be erased when we die, if it has not been firmly established within us and properly printed within us before we die, if it has not been moved "inside" of us by our Shaikh within us, through our partnership with our Shaikh within us, before we die. And as a result, if we have not properly done this moving before we die, this transforming of the wisdom of truth "outside" of us, that Bawa gave us on the "outside" of us, into the action of truth within us, then because of our ignorance after our death we will have to experience the suffering of the grave, and Qiyamah, the Standing Forth, the Day of Reckoning. In this way, only then, when we have joined with Bawa within us to do this moving, to do this transforming of the wisdom of truth "outside" of us into our action of truth "inside" of us, will what we have learned from Bawa be of any value to us, after we die. Only in this way, will what we have learned from Bawa be of any value to us on the rest of our journey, which is a very, very long journey indeed, on our journey after we die, after we leave the world, after we leave the world that we now see and experience in our ignorance as existing "outside" of us, that we see and experience as "us" and all of our brothers and sisters, and our mother and father, and our wife and children, and our friends and family, living on the "outside" of us. May we both think about this a little, my dearest loving brother Muhammad Sulaiman. It is very, very important. This is beautifully explained to us in the following quote from the book, "Come To The Secret Garden", and as the quote of the month in the 1991 Bawa Muhaiyaddeen Fellowship Calendar for August, "My grandchildren, the right path is truth, the wisdom of truth. This is not something that we can just talk about, we must bring it into action." "Talking about something is one thing, but doing it is another. You have to act upon the truth. Nothing will happen just from talking, whether the words come from you or from a man of wisdom." "In the same way that the ink from your pen sticks to a piece of paper, your actions must stick to your words. It is easy to talk about wisdom, But you have to hold on and stick to it." "Learn only that which can never be erased. Do not bother to learn anything that can be erased. That kind of learning is like writing on water. You write, but a second later, it disappears, and there is no way of knowing what was written. You will never be able to benefit from that kind of learning, and neither will anyone else." "Think about this. What you learn must be firmly established and printed in a way that will stick. Only if you stay with the Shaikh will you be able to do this." 3. Please Take Advantage of the 2nd & Last Coming of Bawa Into The World - and become One with Bawa and God within you, as the - Disciple, Shaikh, and God - as the Triple Flame of God within the Triple Flame of God within us, within the Triple Flame of God know as - Ya Allah, Ya Rasul, Ya Muhaiyaddeen - so we can again become One with God and True Man within us. Don't miss this last chance to do this divine work within you, by joining with your wisdom, by joining with your Shaikh within you, with Bawa within you, for the state of your eternal life depends on it, providing you with either an eternal life of "Oneness with" God or an eternal life of "separation from" God. The choice is yours, not God's, because God has given us both forms of life, in truth there is no other option And finally, we all need to realize, understand, accept, and join with the 2nd and last coming of Bawa into the world, 16 years after His death in 1986, but this time as the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him and with each of Us). In this way, we have all been given a second and final chance to establish a direct connection between us and Bawa within us, and between us and God within Bawa within us, establishing Bawa as our wisdom, as the Shaikh within us, and God within Him as the truth within our wisdom, in this way, establishing the Triple Flame of God within us, as the - Disciple, Shaikh, And God - within the Triple Flame of God within us, as - Ya Allah, Ya Rasul, Ya Muhaiyaddeen - who before we die can guide us back into the Oneness of God and True Man within us, if that be our true intention. May we all take advantage of this second and last chance to leave this world before we die, and become One again with God and True Man within us, which in truth is God within us, before it is too late, before we die, or before we are too old to do anything about it, or before Bawa finally leaves the world and returns to heaven within us. For this is what Bawa told us He would do in the end, return to heaven, and take us with Him, if He can, if that be our true intention. This is what He told us in this beautiful discourse that He gave to us on May 12, 1986, just 7 months before He died. It too is very, very, very important. It could save us from the suffering of the grave, and an eternal life of "separation from" God. 4. Closing Comments And Prayer Please give my love and salams to your wife and children, to all of your friends and family, and to all of our brothers and sisters, and share with all of them this short letter to you, and the 1 page Original Version of the Chat with Rumi that follows this short letter to you. We all need to know that we all have a second and last chance, to get it right, we all need to know that Bawa has come back into the world again, for a second and last time, as the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him, and with each of Us), to give each of us living in this age the chance to join with Him to become the One True Child of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with Him), which is True Man within the Creation of God within us, within all of us, within the Children of Bawa Muhaiyaddeen (may God be pleased with each of Us), which is all of us living in this age.
